Voluntary Organisations providing Transport

A number of voluntary organisations in Romsey provide transport for individuals. Passengers will
generally be asked to contribute towards the cost of this transport, although rates will vary between
organisations. For further information please telephone Hampshire County Council on
0845 603 5633*.
Test Valley Dial a Ride
Dial a Ride provides door to door transport for anyone who finds it difficult or impossible to use ordinary bus services.
You do not have to be registered disabled or a wheelchair user to use Dial a Ride. For example you may have difficulty climbing steps onto buses, or be unable to walk to the bus stop.
You will need to register to use the service and phone to book your journey. Bookings are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Fares are similar to bus fares from the same area.
The minibus will collect you from your door at the arranged time and take you to your destination.
The well-trained and friendly drivers will help you in and out of the minibus. Dial a Ride minibuses
are specially adapted with handrails and low steps to help passengers. Each vehicle is equipped with a lift or ramp to assist wheelchair and walking frame users as well as people who find steps difficult.
The service operates Monday to Friday serving Romsey and surrounding parishes in the southern
Test Valley area. You will be advised when you register which services are available to you.
For registration and bookings, please ring Test Valley Community Services on 01264 356808
Monday to Friday between 9 am–4.30 pm. You will need to book your journey by noon the day before you want to travel.
