Planning Matters
As a civic society we respond to planning applications which affect the development of Romsey. Two separate committees respond on behalf of The Society. The Planning Committee responds from the built environment point of view, taking into account design, planning law, traffic and infrastructure implications and aesthetics etc. The Natural Environment Committee responds to the implications for the natural environment, ecosystem and biodiversity.
The population of Romsey has grown significantly recently and is set to continue to grow. There are a number of developments proposed currently and the Society is actively involved in campaigning for these to be for the long term benefit of the people and ecosystems of Romsey and District rather than short term profit.
